As you may know, 18th July 2013 was Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday! What’s more, the UN declared July 18 International Nelson Mandela Day, with messages coming from world figures such as Bill Clinton and the Dalai Lama, who asked people to use the day to commit to small acts of kindness that can “change the world”. What a significant impact this remarkable man has made on our world by “letting his own light shine”?
It seems to me it will shine for many years to come, leaving a wonderful legacy for the human race.
(Sadly, Nelson Mandela died on 5th December 2013)
And, on Tuesday morning (22nd July 2013) we awoke to news of a Royal baby boy, named George Alexander Louis, born to William and Kate, 3rd in line to the throne. Let’s hope he too can change the world for the better by “letting his own light shine”? Time will tell . . .
